Ashleigh Lin (she/her) is the Professor of Diversity and Mental Health at the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society at La Trobe University. She currently holds a NHMRC Emerging Leadership 2 Investigator Grant and have previously held NHMRC Career Development and Early Career Fellowships.

Ashleigh's research is focused on the detection and prevention of mental ill health in young people, with a particular interest in the mental health of marginalised youth, including LGBTQIA+ and First Nations young people. She works closely with LGBTQIA+ communities and is currently part of 2 large MRFF-funded consortia working with these populations: a) ARCTYC aims to improve the care and outcomes of trans children and young people; b) Interconnect aims to develop co-designed, integrated, person-centred models of care to improve the physical and mental health of people with innate variations of sex characteristics.

Ashleigh works across disciplines and methodologies, with her research spanning clinical trials, co-design, service evaluation, clinical health registry data analyses, population surveys and qualitative interview studies. She has published over 200 peer reviewed articles in youth mental health and has received >$50 million in competitive research funding.

Currently, Ashleigh is the President of the Australian Professional Association for Trans Health (AusPATH) and sits on the Board of Directors of Youth Focus, the largest youth mental health provider in Western Australia.
