BIO
Dr Asmita Mudholkar is a senior lecturer and researcher in the occupational therapy program at the La Trobe Rural Health School. Dr Asmita is an early-career researcher and a registered occupational therapist in both Australia and the United States. Dr Asmita’s work focuses on feeding difficulties in young children and workforce challenges in rural and remote Australia. Dr Asmita completed her PhD at La Trobe University, Melbourne, where her doctoral research investigated the factors associated with the early onset of feeding difficulties in young children and explored practices for their identification and remediation. The findings provided insight into the importance of early identification of feeding difficulties to guide targeted intervention.

Her clinical experience encompasses paediatrics, rehabilitation, rural general practice (as a sole practitioner in a rural hospital), and clinical education. She is also a registered occupational therapist with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Dr Asmita is also an adjunct research fellow at James Cook University's Central QLD Centre for Rural and Remote Health. Dr Asmita has presented her research at national and international conferences and is passionate about translating research findings into practical strategies for clinicians, clients and other relevant stakeholders.
