Astrid is Lecturer in Tourism and Event Management at the La Trobe Business School, La Trobe University, Melbourne. She joined La Trobe Business School in July 2023 and holds a PhD from RMIT University. Astrid's research is interdisciplinary in nature and focuses primarily on tourist and consumer behavior and psychology and hereunder topics such as reactions to disease threat, dark tourism, and tourism biases. She is also particularly interested in the interplay between evolutionary and social psychology, tourism, and marketing and has published on such topics in top-tier tourism journals.
