Aislinn is a graduate researcher in Crime, Justice and Legal Studies. She is interested in the ways that prisons and people in prison are presented to the public and the ways that prisons are perceived in Australia. 

In her PhD, Aislinn focuses on excursions to operational prisons for secondary school students in Victoria. This research will explore how prison excursions shape students’ perceptions of prisons, incarcerated people and the legitimacy of imprisonment. 

Aislinn's master's research focused on four private prisons across Victoria and South Australia and examined how the legitimacy of these private prisons was established, maintained and challenged in Australian news media. Additionally, this research was concerned with the ways that political voices were represented in reporting on private prisons.
