I am a Research Associate within the ARC Hub for Medicinal Agriculture involved in characterizing enzymes from medicinal plants for producing plant-derived compounds. I completed my PhD in Chemical engineering ( awarded April 2017) at Monash University in development of enzymes as biocatalytic protein particles through self-assembly for industrial application. My expertise includes protein self-assembly, enzymology, recombinant protein production using bacteria and yeast, bioprocess development and downstream processing of biomolecules. After my PhD, I was a post-doctoral fellow at the ARC Hub for Energy Efficient Separations (2019) and developed a process for the separation of bioactive molecules. I have 5 years of industrial experience as a Senior Scientist at Biocon Research Ltd., Bangalore India (2008-2013) in the development of downstream process for Anti-diabetic drugs. My research interests include advanced biocatalyst development, protein engineering and microbial biotransformation for waste valorization and bioremediation.
