BIO
Christopher is undertaking a PhD at La Trobe University. As a proud autistic person, his research project is exploring the practice of fictional screen representations of autistic people. He is an award-winning filmmaker and award-nominated screenwriter. After completing his Bachelor of Screen Production at Holmesglen, Chris acquired a Master of Creative Media at RMIT University. Following this, he completed a Master of Design at RMIT, accomplishing a practice-based project exploring repetitious cinematic practices. He has created narrative short film projects and a feature. These projects have been selected at over 140 national and international film festivals, where he has won over 40 awards. His short films were officially selected at various prestigious festivals, including the Sitges Film Festival in Spain, the St. Louis International Film Festival, the Dungog Film Festival, WorldFest - Houston International Film Festival, Cryptcon and Dragoncon. Likewise, his feature received official selections at many acclaimed festivals, including the Serile Filmului Gay International Film Festival in Romania, the renowned LGBTIQA+ festival Reel Out Charlotte, the Indie Spirit Film Festival and the River’s Edge and Red Dirt International Film Festivals. For this feature, he was awarded Best Picture at the Los Angeles Film Awards, Best Director at the New York Film Awards and received the Grand Jury Narrative Feature at the Awareness Film Festival.
