- EVENT ADMINISTRATION20 Jun 2020 - 30 Oct 2020This event is organised jointly by La Trobe Asia, the Law School and Brawijaya University. The event was organised as part of international academic partnership between La Trobe University and Brawijaya University in promoting social justice and inclusion. At this online event we bring together experiences from Australia and Indonesia on how tertiary education institutions are responding to the changes currently underway. Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture participated in this event by giving opening speech and welcome such international partnership between institution in Indonesia and Australia. It is critical now to consider what policies and practices can be put in place to ensure the rights of students with disabilities to quality and accessible education is not neglected. Australia and Indonesia are both state parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), however, the different socio-economic, legal and political landscapes means that it is beneficial for both countries to learn from each other.

- EVENT ADMINISTRATION2 Feb 2019 - 15 Dec 2019International conference on disability and diversity in Asia. This conference was organised jointly by La Trobe Law School, Brawijaya University and Australia-Indonesia Disability Research and Advocacy Network (AIDRAN). It received funding from Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) through Knowledge Sector Initiative (KSI). The conference received 230 abstracts from scholars and disability advocates from different countries. In the two days conference 84 research papers were presented. The conference was opened by the official from the Australian Embassy. Six Australian scholars and disability advocates presented at the conference and about seven speakers from the US, India, Bangladesh, China and Iran presented their research at the conference.
