Amy Heath Associate Lecturer - Public Health (TF), Rehabilitation Counselling

Amy Heath is a Ph.D. candidate at La Trobe University and is very interested in the growth of Spiritual Care. Through a partnership with Meaningful Ageing Australia, she has been able to meet many people working in the aged care sector to discover the means by which people create purpose and connection for and with older Australians.

During the past 5 years, Amy has taken an active academic role, bridging her passion for rehabilitation counselling with teaching within the School of Psychology and Public Health.

Amy has worked with undergraduate and postgraduate allied health students undertaking public health subjects in the areas of bioethics, sociocultural perspectives of health and wellbeing, as well as case management and counselling, focussed practical work.

Amy sees the sphere of spiritual care as a critical factor in providing more holistic and person-centred care in the future and finds the practice of talking to people and learning from them ultimately rewarding.
