Associate Professor Arthur Stukas Associate Professor, Psychology

Dr Stukas is a social psychologist who uses experimental social psychological theories and methods to address questions of practical and societal importance. In line with his discipline, he sees behaviour as a function of both the person and the environment.

Generally speaking, Art's work focuses on how people's beliefs and expectations about the self, others, and the social world guide their perceptions and their behaviour. His colleagues and he have examined such varied behaviours as the presentation of self (in social interaction and in close relationships), engagement in volunteerism and community service, and ways to reduce stigma and prejudice.
