Ayreena Bakhtawar is currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at La Trobe University. Her research area focuses on metrical problems in Diophantine approximation which is a branch of Number Theory. She has been awarded La Trobe research scholarships LTUPRS and LTUFFRS for conducting her PhD. So far she has presented number of talks at different conferences including Number Theory Down Under and Australian Mathematical Society. She is also employed as a tutor for undergraduate students. As a result of her academic achievements, Ayreena has been invited to join La Trobe Student Excellence Academy. In addition to this Ayreena is acting as Vice President of Bendigo Graduate Research Society and is a Graduate Researcher representative of SEMS.
