Angie Black Lecturer, Screen & Sound

Angie Black is a lecturer in screen production at La Trobe University. She is a multiple-award winning director who specialises in filmmaking as practice-based research. Her debut feature film The Five Provocations (2018), along with an extensive body of short films, explore innovative approaches to filmmaking and actively promote onscreen diversity. She is a graduate of the Swinburne Film School (VCA, University of Melbourne), has a MA in screenwriting and is completing a creative practice PhD on performance approaches in film production. She is a recipient of Film Victoria’s ‘Independent Filmmakers Fund’, founder of the independent production company Black Eye Films and the Executive Producer of the award winning, La Trobe University REAL (2010-) television youth series.
