Dr Amy Brown Academic, Psychology

Dr Amy Brown is a postdoctoral research fellow in the School of Psychology and Public Health at La Trobe University. Her research interests are predominantly mental health and cognitive functioning in healthy children and those with chronic illness. Amy is currently working across a number of research projects at Latrobe University and in her research role at Murdoch Childrens Research Institute/Royal Children's Hospital .

In 2017 Amy joined La Trobe University to work with Professor Jordana Bayer. This work has been focused on the prevention of child anxiety disorders and the identification of key risk and protective factors through longitudinal research. Amy completed her PhD at the University of Melbourne in 2015. Her research thesis focused on the cognitive, behavioural and social outcomes of children with rare genetic disorders, as well as parent coping and family functioning.
