Ben Walsh Lecturer, Law Melbourne

Ben has been a practising solicitor for over ten years, in both public and private practice. For much of that time he practised law as a solicitor advocate in the area of criminal law, an area in which he held specialist accreditation from the Law Institute of Victoria.

He most recently practiced law at Victoria Legal Aid, working for part of that time as an in house advocate and deputy manager.

Ben teaches two clinical legal education subjects, Legal Practice and Conduct, LAW4LPP, and Sentencing Law and Policy, LAW2SLP, which is a summer school subject. This involves the supervision of students who undertake real legal work at a local legal service and the delivery of lectures and seminars as part of those subjects.

Ben also holds two teaching qualifications, a certificate qualification to teach English as a Second Language (CELTA) and a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary). He has taught children and adults in a variety of learning contexts both overseas and more recently in secondary schools in Victoria as part of his Diploma.
