Dr Caroline Jordan Research Officer, History

Caroline is currently Research Associate (2015-18) on the ARC-funded Linkage Project Fostering Women Leaders through Educational Exchange, 1930-1980, led by Profs Diane Kirkby (History), Tanya Fitzgerald (Education), Vera Mackie (Asian Studies, Wollongong) and Dr Tangerine Holt of the Australian-American Fulbright Commission. Caroline is an art historian specialising in Australian art, colonial to modern, and was previously Lecturer in Art History at LaTrobe for four years to 2012. She is the author of a monograph published by Melbourne University Press in 2005, Picturesque Pursuits: Colonial Women Artists and the Amateur Tradition, and has received a number of awards and fellowships in art history, most recently as an Ailsa Mellon Bruce Visiting Fellow in 2014 at the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C.
