Carly Black Graduate Researcher, Social Work & Social Policy

Carlina (Carly) Black has worked in the area of child welfare for over 15 years, specifically in the areas of research, evaluation and policy of therapeutic services for children who have experienced abuse and neglect, outcomes and evidence informed research and Indigenous child welfare.

Carlina is a PhD candidate at La Trobe University, researching the role of cultural connection in healing for Aboriginal children in out of home care and was awarded the Berry Street Take Two Robin Clark postgraduate scholarship.

Carlina currently works in an evaluation, policy and advocacy role with the Ngarra Jarra Noun Redress Support Service at the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA), a statewide Aboriginal Community Controlled Organization.
