Dr Clare Lade Lect - Tourism, Hospitality & Event Mgt, Management Sport & Tourism

Dr. Clare Lade is a lecturer in tourism, hospitality and events in the School of Management, Sport and Tourism at La Trobe University. Dr Lade held a previous position in the National Centre for Australian Studies at Monash University, before joining La Trobe University at the Bendigo campus in 2005, and relocated to the Melbourne campus at the beginning of 2009.

Clare's industry experience ranges from a variety of hospitality related roles, marketing research positions, education consultancies (VEA Australia and Cengage Learning) to working as a Human Resource Officer for an IT recruitment agency while living in the UK. Clare's love for travel has provided her with knowledge and first hand practical experience relating to tourism development and management theory taught at the tertiary level.

Clare's research interest's lie in regional economic development, of which tourism may be considered a significant driver, dark tourism and gastronomic tourism. Clare currently co-supervises a number of PhD students and teaches in tourism and hospitality related subjects at an undergraduate level, both domestically and internationally in Singapore.
