Professor Carlene WilsonProfessor of Psycho-Oncology, Psychology
Carlene Wilson is the inaugural Professor of Psycho-oncology within the School of Psychology and Public Health and the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre at Austin Health. She commenced this position after working as the Cancer Council SA funded Professor of Cancer Prevention and Support at the Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer. She has a PhD in Psychology and an MBA, both obtained from the University of Adelaide, and is a registered Psychologist. She is interested in identifying influences on the way people react to the experience of a cancer diagnosis and how survivors and their carers can be supported in the short and long term. She has more than 250 publication, most of which are in the psychology of cancer prevention and support. She has successfully supervised more than 5 post-doctoral fellows, 20 PhD students, 20 Master students and 60 Honours students and has achieved over $10miliion dollars of Category 1 funding.
