Before beginning her academic career at LaTrobe University, worked for more than 35 years in education as a primary teacher and leader in school, regional and system roles with the Victorian Department of Education. She worked as an education consultant in more than 30 schools and 10 regions in New York City and State.
Debbie has extensive experience in the oversight and establishment of complex and multifaceted education projects. Extensive experience in developing professional learning closely aligned to policy context and focused on building capability for school improvement. She is experienced at presenting face-to-face and online professional learning for school leaders and teachers at school, regional and state levels. Debbie has led all stages of managing research, program development and program implementation in the school education sector, including conceptual development, detailed project planning and evaluation, working with a broad group of stakeholders such as government, schools, universities, contractors and corporate partners.
