Engi Messih Academic, Law Melbourne

Engi Messih is a sessional academic at the La Trobe Law School. She completed her doctoral thesis in December 2019 (currently under examination).

Engi’s research involves a critique of the Australian double jeopardy exceptions. Her research entails historical analysis, doctrinal research, and qualitative empirical work. It also involves a comparative analysis with the comparable laws in the United Kingdom. As such her research areas are Criminal Law, Evidence Law, and comparative law.

Engi is also currently interested in Business Law, being an area in which she currently teaches.

Engi's other area of interest is Family Law, more particularly children's issues, having practised as a Solicitor in Sydney and Melbourne for a number of years, specialising in Family Law.
