Eric Cruz Graduate Researcher, Nursing

Enrique (Eric) Cruz is a post-graduate lecturer of La Trobe University for continence and urological nursing. He is a Clinical Nurse Consultant of the Alfred Health Continence Service based at Caulfield Hospital in Melbourne. He holds outpatient clinic consultations and community visits for continence assessment and management. He belongs to a tertiary public hospital continence service team composed of physiotherapists, nurses, a neuropsychologist and a geriatrician.

Eric is an adjunct research nurse of the Department of Neuroscience of Monash University. His area of research is on the rehabilitation of post-stroke incontinence. He holds a master's degree in public health and is currently doing his PhD with supervisors from La Trobe and Monash University about the use of electrical stimulation as a therapy for incontinence. He has been a contributing author of textbooks in public health and medical-surgical nursing.

Eric is part of a working group of the International Continence Society (ICS) on the standardisation of terminologies for nursing management of lower urinary tract and pelvic floor dysfunction in adults. He is also the state treasurer for the Continence Nurses Society of Victoria and Tasmania.
