Associate Professor Ewen Silvester Associate Professor, Ecology, Environment & Evolution

Ewen Silvester is an aquatic biogeochemist with research interests in understanding biogeochemical processes in rivers and wetlands, particularly the patterns and responses of these systems to seasonal changes and climatic events. He has broad interests in the development and application of new analytical techniques and approaches to the investigation of aquatic ecosystems in order to understand how ecological processes influence (and are influenced by) water quality. Ewen is Deputy Director of the Centre for Freshwater Ecosystems (CFE), and is Director of the Research Centre for Applied Alpine Ecology (RCAAE).
