Dr Eric Pardede Senior Lecturer, Comp Sci & Info Tech

Eric’s association with LTU started in 2001 when he enrolled in Graduate Diploma of Computer Science after completing a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering Honours (Cum Laude) at Bandung Institute of Technology and Master of Quality Management (with Merit) at the University of Wollongong. He further completed his Master of Information Technology, Doctor of Philosophy and Graduate Certificate in Higher Education at LTU. During his study, Eric worked casually as research and teaching assistant at both La Trobe University and Monash University. He started as a full time staff at LTU as an Associate Lecturer in 2006. He is currently a Senior Lecturer. He has been appointed various academic coordinating roles including Thesis, Industry Project and Industry-based Learning coordinator and Undergraduate and Honours Courses in the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology.

Eric has designed and delivered a wide array of subjects from the undergraduate to postgraduate level including subjects with high number of enrolment (> 300). Eric consistently received excellent Student Feedback on Subjects (SFS) and Student Feedback on Teaching (SFT) results for his subject and teaching. He received Faculty Commendation for Teaching and Learning and Citations for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning at both College and University Level .

Eric has been actively involved in supervising students in their research. He has successfully supervised 9 PhD students to completion, 19 Master students with minor thesis to completion and 12 Honours students to completion. He currently supervises 5 PhD students and 3 master students. Many of his students have research outcomes published in reputable journals (World Wide Web, Future Generation Computer Systems, Journal of Network and Computer Applications, etc.) and in reputable conferences (PACIS, ISD, WISE, etc.). Along with his research interest in Data Analytics and Information Systems, he also actively conducts research in Higher Education Pedagogy and published papers in reputable journals in the field (Teaching in Higher Education, IEEE Transactions in Education).
