Emily currently coordinates the BBV Sector Development Program at the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society. She has worked in research, health promotion and education in the field of blood borne viruses for over fifteen years. In 2011, Emily completed a Masters (Research), which examined the meanings that individuals draw between hepatitis C and sexuality. It looked at the representations and discourses of sexuality among people affected by hepatitis C, the relationship between ideas about HIV as a sexual epidemic and ideas about hepatitis C transmission and the impacts of living with the virus on sexual relationships.
