Associate Professor Hanan Khalil Associate Professor, Public Health

Associate Professor Hanan Khalil is a registered pharmacist who has worked in clinical practice for several years in both hospitals and community settings in Victoria and South Australia. She has also held several senior management, research and education roles with clinicians and students from various disciplines.

Her research focus is on improving medication management, quality of care to patients accessing services and health services quality and performance. Hanan’s research projects were recognized nationally through receiving awards and being published in the media.

Associate Professor Khalil has published over 80 educational and research articles in the areas of medication management and evidence-based health care in various health care settings such as aged care, hospitals and community health services. She has also presented her work in both national and international conferences. She is an invited speaker both nationally and internationally on topics related to evidence-based health care and medication safety in health services.

Professionally, Hanan has been a member of the Therapeutic Goods Administration labeling of medicines Committee, she was involved in the development and the implementation of the new Therapeutic Goods Orders for medicine labels (TGO 91 & 92) to ensure the safe labelling of prescription and non-prescription medicines in Australia. She is also an advisory member on the Monthly Index of Medical Specialties (MIMS).

Associate Professor Khalil is the coeditor in Chief of JBI Evidence Implementation and a member of the Editorial Board of BMC Health Services Research.
