Iris Hickman Academic, Wildlife Sanctuary

Casual academic at La Trobe Wildlife Sanctuary and a third-year student studying a Bachelor of Biological Science at La Trobe University with a background of nursing and various ecological volunteer/work positions. My degree in biological science has given me the skills and education required to develop my passion for ecology, research, and conservation, and I am always seeking out new and exciting opportunities to increase my skills set. As an undergraduate, I have loved getting involved with ecological and plant-based research projects and organisations which have greatly increased my curiosity of the natural world.
My future career aspirations are driven by my interest in plant ecology and also the need to provide effective conservation and management strategies while integrating the community in current scientific research.
