Dr John Hannon Adjunct Senior Lecturer, Education School Operations

John has an Honorary position at La Trobe as Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the School of Education. His experience over 20 years demonstrates expertise, research and leadership in three areas: academic and professional development, blended and online curriculum design, and higher education teaching. A key research area is the transformative effects of the digitisation of academic work and teaching, developed from his PhD 'Reassembling Practice: A relational approach to online learning', which was the basis of research into academic work, professional development, university teaching, open education resources (OER), and intercultural communication. He also supervises HDR students and has taught postgraduate courses in university teaching, digital media, and conducts workshops on educational research and the scholarship of teaching. John received an Outstanding Paper Award, Ascilite Conference 2008, Deakin University, for 'Breaking Down Online Teaching: Innovation and Resistance'. Recent grants include research into interdisciplinary teaching and curricula (from La Trobe’s Remaking Education DRP), and an OLT funded project on digital literacies in undergraduate health curriculum.
