Dr Jereme Spiers Research Officer, Biochemistry

Dr Spiers' research has focused on identifying the molecular and biochemical changes in oxidative/nitrosative stress that are generated following exposure to psychological/physical stress in animal models of neurodegeneration. His recent research has investigated dysfunction of the locus coeruleus in mouse models of Alzheimer’s and prion diseases prior to the appearance of typical indicators of neurodegeneration.
