Josh Vido Graduate Researcher, Animal Plant & Soil Sciences

PhD candidate at La Trobe University with a research focus on soil micorbial dynamics within agricultural industries, tropical rainforests and fire effected ecosystems.

My research utlises next generation DNA sequencing and advanced bioinformatic pipelines to disentangle the role of soil microorganisms in agriculturally important elements such as soil structure, plant growth and nutrient cycling.
This research is in partnership with the Grains Research and Development Corporation, Agriculture Victoria and Landcare Victoria.

The other research areas i am involved in is understanding how soil microorganisms drive tropical rainforest plant diversity, impact climate change and contribute to soil regeneration following Australian fire events.
