Dr Kumuda Simpson-Gray Lecturer in International Relations, Politics

Kumuda Simpson is a Lecturer in International Relations in the Department of Politics and Philosophy, School of Humanities and Social Sciences at La Trobe University.

Her research interests include the climate change and international security, political ecology, nuclear proliferation, American politics and foreign policy, and Middle Eastern history and politics.

She has published a variety issues covering these areas, including commentary pieces on US politics and on climate security in The Conversation, Australian Outlook, and The Lowy Institute's Interpreter. She also contributed to the 2018 Australian Senate Inquiry into the Security Implications of Climate Change and was quoted in the final report.

Her first book US Nuclear Diplomacy with Iran: From the War on Terror to the Obama Administration was published in 2015. She is currently completing a second monograph on climate change and international security, due to be published in 2019 by Lynne Reinner Publishers.
