After initail training as a Pre-school Mothercraft Nurse and ten years of working in various children's service locations from long day care centres, Kindergartens and subsequent management positions, I chose to upgrade my qualifications. During my studies I began a 15 year career teaching in the TAFE system supporting students through Certificate and Diploma courses in Children's Services. I began my Masters of Education and began working here at Latrobe in 2012 completing my thesis which focused on the pedagogical practices in a bush kinder settting in relation to early childhood education for sustainability in 2015. My research interests are in children's agency in sustainability thinking and practice and the learning affordances in bush and nature programs. I was fortunate enough in 2010 to participate in an International Study Program at the Centro Internazionale in Reggio Emilia, Northern Italy which has greatly influenced my teaching.
