Dr Lisa Hanson Senior Lecturer (Teaching and Research), Uni Dept of Rural Health

Lisa joined La Trobe University in 2009 after working as a senior clinician providing physiotherapy services in ICU and for people with chronic conditions including cardiac rehabilitation. Lisa completed her Ph.D. in 2017 on the measurement properties of field exercise tests in cardiac rehabilitation. In 2019 I completed a MBA.

My research is focused on the role of exercise and physical activity for people with cardiovascular disease who live in rural and regional communities and how best to provide sustainable health services for these people. I am involved in a number of research projects that are looking a rural health service models as well as exercise and rehabilitation for people with cardiovascular disease.

My teaching is focused on preparing physiotherapy students for transition to practice in the area of cardiorespiratory physiotherapy and chronic disease management.
