Dr Lydia Cui Lecturer in Interactive Digital Media, Comp Sci & Info Tech

Dr. Hui (Lydia) Cui is a Lecturer in Interactive Digital Media, at the Department of Comp Sci & Info Tech. She graduated with a Ph.D. degree in computer science from The University of Sydney in 2016. She was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Biomedical & Multimedia Information Technology (BMIT) Research Group, The University of Sydney (2016 - 2018) before joining La Trobe University.

Her research interests lie broadly in image processing, medical image analysis, and machine learning. She has been dedicated to research topics including:
• Machine learning for multi-modality image processing
• Medical image segmentation (e.g. CT, PET, PET-CT, MRI, etc)
• Graph theory in image processing and analytics
• Bio-image informatics
• Data-driven models for early diagnosis and prognosis of cancer and disease

Dr. Cui was the recipient of a list of international research awards, including the one and the only international best paper award for Australia at the 2015 Annual Conference of Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.
