Lael Ridgway is an experienced nurse and midwife with expertise in community based maternal and child health (MCH) nursing. She has qualifications and practice experience in midwifery, community based Child and Family Health Nursing, breastfeeding, early childhood development and higher education. Lael was Coordinator the the Child Family and Community Nursing specialty courses at La Trobe University from 2008-2018 and has been involved in curriculum, practice and policy development and research. Lael's key areas of interest are in primary health care of families and improving practice. Her current research is focused on family-centred care in MCH services, and early identification of autism. She is working with senior researchers in the Judith Lumley Centre, Olga Tennison Autism Research Centre, and internationally.
