Laura Whitburn Lecturer Anatomy, Physiology Anatomy & Microbiology

Laura is a Lecturer of Human Anatomy within the School of Life Sciences. Her teaching interests include neuroanatomy of the brain and nervous system. Laura's research focuses on understanding the experience of pain. Her PhD aimed to better understand the complex experience of labour pain, including an exploration of the role of cognitive, social and environmental factors in a woman's perception of pain during childbirth. Laura also undertakes extensive research in the area of anatomy education. Laura has a background in Physiotherapy and previously worked in private practices in Melbourne.
