Marina Carman Research Fellow, Aust Res Ctr Sex Hlth&Soc

As Head of Strategic Development, Marina manages strategic planning for ARCSHS, research development in priority areas, centre operations, and the delivery of multi-project programs for Commonwealth and state governments.
Marina has nearly twenty years’ experience in Australian and international responses to HIV, and LGBTIQ health and wellbeing. From 2008-2012, she was Program Director for a $13 million government-funded program for capacity building of the healthcare, research and community sectors responding to HIV in Asia and the Pacific.
Marina is Co-Director of Rainbow Health Victoria, a program that supports LGBTIQ health and wellbeing through research and knowledge translation, training, resources, policy advice and service accreditation through the Rainbow Tick.
Her areas of research specialisation are health and education policy and service delivery related to HIV and sexually transmissible infections, sexuality education, and LGBTIQ health and wellbeing. She has a special interest in community engagement and research impact.
