Marina Carman Research Fellow-Policy, Aust Res Ctr Sex Hlth&Soc

Marina has nearly twenty years of experience in the field of Australian and international responses to HIV. From 2008-2012, she was Program Director for a $13 million government-funded program for capacity building of the healthcare, research and community sectors involved in national and regional responses to HIV in Asia and the Pacific. Her areas of research specialisation are health and education policy and service delivery related to HIV and sexually transmissible infections, sexuality education, and the mental health of LGBTI people. She has a special interest in community engagement and research impact, and how these are measured and supported in policy and in practice. As Chief of Staff and Head of Strategic Research, Marina manages strategic planning for ARCSHS, research development in priority areas, centre operations, and the delivery of multi-project strategic research programs for Commonwealth and state governments, and other major funding bodies.
