Dr Nicholas Smith Senior Lecturer, Anthropology

My publications to date reflect my long-standing research interests in the intersection of Australian nationalism, Aboriginality and environmentalism. Increasingly my research is moving to examine intercultural aspects of Aboriginal lifeworlds in the western Pilbara region of Western Australia. My teaching areas include the Anthropology of the environment and anthropological approaches to food and eating. In tandem with these research interests I have since 2001 been working in the applied domain of Native Title Anthropology.
