  • This is the 2nd field report of the Tawaki Project. The project’s main aim is to examine the foraging strategies of tawaki in the varying different marine habitats the species inhabits. Across their breeding range, tawaki forage in the continental shelf regions off the West Coast, in the pelagic regions and fjord ecosystems of Fiordland, as well as shallow coastal marine habitats around Stewart Island.
