Domestic and family violence and parenting: mixed-method insights into impact and support needs. Final Report Report uri icon

abstract

  • This research program was concerned with examining family and domestic violence defined in a manner consistent with the description applied in the National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children (Council of Australian Governments [COAG], 2011). However, one of the studies involved, the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children, assessed conflict between parents rather than DFV (see detailed definition in section 2.3.1). In discussing these findings, this report refers to inter-parental conflict (IPC). When discussing findings about domestic and family violence specifically, it refers to DFV.
