Associate Professor Rhiannon Evans Associate Professor, Classics & Ancient History

Rhiannon teaches Classics and Ancient History, in particular, the language, literature and culture of Ancient Rome and its empire. She studies Roman literature from Julius Caesar to the early emperors of Rome, and she is especially interested in what they can tell us about ancient Romans' views of cultural identity. She has published articles on ancient ethnicity and a book on Roman utopias and dystopias. Rhiannon is the co-host of the popular podcast 'Emperors of Rome', and has a strong interest in both public scholarship and modern pedagogy in Classics.
