Dr Reem Al-Mahmood Lecturer, Digital Education, LTLT

Currently, Reem is a lecturer working in Educational Development at La Trobe Learning and Teaching. I work to inspire academic and scholarly capacity across teaching leadership, the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, Research Design, Communicating and Publishing Research, Professional Development, Curriculum Design, and Awards and Promotions.

She is a passionate, creative, and innovative multidisciplinary academic committed to enriching teaching, learning, equity and research across higher education. She is one of the 26 selected Inclusivity Ambassadors for the University.

She has diverse and extensive expertise across Academic Development, Student Learning and Research, inspiring student and staff learning, teaching, leadership and research across five universities: La Trobe, Melbourne, Monash, ACU, and Deakin.

She has taught, designed, co-ordinated and collaborated on subject design and programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels across the Arts, Education, Humanities, Social Sciences, STEM, Information Systems, Business, Medicine, Nursing, (Aboriginal) Linguistics, Sign Languages, Engineering, social entrepreneurship, and Graduate Research.

She's interested in new imaginaries for transdisciplinary research, knowledge practices, digital learning, and culture, learning technologies, learning analytics, globalisation, identity, Social Media, emerging learning spaces (digital and physical), visual culture, place-based pedagogy, digital literacies, equity, accessibility and inclusivity, qualitative post-structural and material semiotic approaches research methodologies, higher education, doctoral education, the ethics of care, students as partners/co-creators to the idea of ‘the university’.
