Rachel Cross Lecturer, Nursing, Nursing

Rachel Cross is a Lecturer for La Trobe University and is based at the Alfred La Trobe Clinical School. Rachel is also an emergency and trauma nurse and works in a clinical capacity in one large metropolitian hospital in the emergency department in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Rachel's professional career consists of clinical nursing positions in emergency departments both within Victoria and internationally in the United Kingdom. Rachel has also held Nursing Education positions involving health care organisational nursing education. Rachel's research area of interest is patient safety in the transition of nursing care. Rachel is currently undertaking her PhD examining the transition of patient care from the emergency department to the ward with a specific focus on clinical deterioration and clinical handover.

Rachel sits on the Victorian Branch for the College of Emergency Nurses Australasia (CENA) and she also is the National CENA Trauma Nursing Program (CENA TNP) Lead.
