Dr Renae Fomiatti Research Officer, Aust Res Ctr Sex Hlth&Soc

Renae is a Research Officer at the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society, with expertise in qualitative research and the sociology of alcohol and other drug use and recovery. Her research is informed by contemporary feminist theory and Science and Technology Studies. She previously held an appointment at the National Drug Research Institute, Curtin University.

She currently works across several projects in the Drugs, Gender and Sexuality (DruGS) research program on injecting drug use, alcohol and other drug support services, hepatitis C treatment, health and health technologies.

Her research focuses on experiences of drug consumption and the self, the biopolitics of health and the body and treatment, stigma and subjectivity.
