Dr Ruth Gamble Lecturer, History, History
Dr Gamble has research expertise in the history, cultures, religions, literature and religions of Tibet and the Himalaya. She has a particular interest in the rapidly changing environment in this region and the effect it has on its inhabitants and is writing a book on the history of the Yarlung Tsangpo (Brahmaputra) River. Before coming to La Trobe, Dr Gamble worked on a Tibetan History project at Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich, Germany and taught Tibetan language studies and Asian Religions at the Australian National University. She was a David Myers Research Fellow at La Trobe University in the China Studies Research Centre, and in 2020 became a lecturer in the Department of Archeology and History.
