Dr Susan Chong Lecturer, Public Health, Public Health

Susan is a lecturer in the Department of Public Health which offers the Bachelor of Health Sciences degree. The subjects she teaches focus on programme planning and evaluation, community health promotion, work integrated learning (WIL), public health practice and global health. Susan is also a research fellow at the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society working on peer insights of people who inject drugs on the uptake of Hepatitis C cure treatment. Her research interests also include, community systems strengthening, HIV policy and advocacy, HIV treatment cascade and treatment seeking behaviour of people living with HIV.

Susan has worked in the field of HIV and AIDS for over 25 years in the Asia Pacific region. Her work included coordinating an Asia Pacific network of non-government organisations and facilitating civil society participation in international development programs, strategic planning, resource mobilization, programme planning, policy analysis, research, and monitoring and evaluation.
