Dr Seema MiglaniLecturer - Accounting, Accounting & Data Analytics
Seema is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Accounting, La Trobe University. Seema completed her PhD from La Trobe University. Her PhD thesis focuses on the association between voluntary corporate governance characteristics and financial distress probability of listed Australian firms, as well as the role of changes in the governance structure on turnaround success of financially distressed firms. Seema's research interests include corporate governance, accounting disclosure, executive compensation, earnings management and financial reporting quality. She has published her research in The Journal of Contemporary Accounting and Economics and Corporate Ownership and Control. Seema is an ad hoc reviewer for the Asian Journal of Business and Accounting. She is a recipient of La Trobe University post-graduate research scholarship (LTUPRS). Seema has won the 2017 Pro Vice-Chancellor's Teaching Award for the development and delivery of a multi-campus, third year core subject using blended-learning technologies.
