Silvina Sanchez Mera Graduate Researcher, Law Melbourne

Silvina is a PhD candidate in Law and an Endeavour Leadership Program recipient, her doctoral research focuses on child soldiers and international crimes, and her broader research interests lie in International Public Law, International Criminal Law and international Humanitarian Law.

Before joining La Trobe University, Silvina worked as a Lecturer in Public International Law and Human Rights Law at the Catholic University of Santiago del Estero, Jujuy, Argentina. She has also worked as a legal officer at a State Juvenile Court, as a researcher for Defence Counsel at the ICTY and interned at the ECCC, as well as a researcher for the National Science and Technology Secretary in Argentina.

In 2016 she obtained her LLM from Bangor University, UK, with distinction and graduating best LLM student. She is a qualified lawyer in Argentina, a Chevening alumni and member of the Argentinean Association of International Law.
