Dr Tanya Serry Snr Lecturer, Speech Pathology, Speech Pathology

I commenced at La Trobe University in 2000 and completed my PhD in 2010. I hold a variety of academic, research and administrative roles for the Discipline of Speech Pathology and in broader university activities and committees. I am the current Chair for the Human Research Ethics Sub-Committee and I sit on the University HREC.

In 2017, I was appointed to be the National Tour speaker for Speech Pathology Australia. The two-day workshop is titled: Speech Pathology in the Literacy Domain: From Prevention to Intervention.

I lead the peadiatric speech and language curriculum team for the Discipline of Speech Pathology. I also supervise PhD, Masters and Honours research students from disciplines of Speech Pathology, Education, Psychology and Public Health.

I am an active researcher and a member of a number of interdisciplinary research teams both within and external to La Trobe University. My major reserach focus is on policy and practices in the Australian context for students at all levels, who have language-based reading and spelling difficulty.

I contribute to the professional association Speech Pathology Australia and I am currently a member of their ethics Committee.
