Dr Tanya Serry Snr Lecturer, Speech Pathology, Speech Pathology

I commenced at La Trobe University in 2000 and completed my PhD in 2010. I hold a variety of academic, research and administrative roles across the university and I am the Discipline Lead for Speech Pathology.

I am the editor of the Australian Journal of Learning Difficulties and a member of the Ethics Board for Speech Pathology Australia.

In 2017, I was appointed to be the National Tour speaker for Speech Pathology Australia. The two-day workshop is titled: Speech Pathology in the Literacy Domain: From Prevention to Intervention.

In 2018-9, I was awarded a contract to run state wide workshops and online webinars on Learning Difficulties for staff from the Victorian Department of Education.

I lead the Child/Adolescent Language and Literacy curriculum team for the Discipline of Speech Pathology. I also supervise PhD, Masters and Honours research students from disciplines of Speech Pathology, Education, Psychology and Public Health.

I am an active researcher and a member of a number of interdisciplinary research teams both within and external to La Trobe University. My major research focus is on policy and practices in the Australian context for students at all levels, who have literacy and learning difficulty.
