Dr Virginia Dickson-SwiftSenior Lecturer - Violet Marshman Centre, Office Of La Trobe Rural Health
Virginia is a Senior Lecturer in the La Trobe Rural Health School based at the Bendigo campus. She teaches and coordinates a range of subjects in the undergraduate and post-graduate courses with the School. Her teaching focuses mainly around research methods subjects and she has been instrumental in the development of research methods for the LRHS. Her research interests lie in public and community health and she has particular strengths in qualitative methodologies especially in grounded theory methods. Virginia is widely published internationally and has presented her work at a range of national and international conferences. As an active researcher she is part of the Research Focus Area, Building Healthy Communities within the LRHS. Her current research focuses on models of community and consumer participation with an emphasis on developing models of co-production for rural health service delivery.
Virginia is a CI on a current NH&MRC partnership project grant, has been successful in a number of smaller grants, and has undertaken a number of research and consultancy projects for Government agencies with an emphasis on workplace health and wellbeing and models of service delivery.
