Dr Xianbi Huang Senior Lectuer, Sociology

Xianbi Huang is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology. Prior to joining the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, she was a University of Queensland Postdoctoral Research Fellow between 2006 and 2009. Her main research interests include social networks, social stratification and inequality (e.g., income, gender, ethnicity, and social participation), social mobility, employment processes, and social wellbeing. Xianbi conducts theoretically informed empirical research by using both quantitative and qualitative methods. She has been involved in large scale national survey projects in Australia and China and is currently carrying out a project funded by the Australian Research Council, which examines social networks and subjective wellbeing in Australia, China and the United Kingdom.
