Dr Hannah Slootjes is a lecturer in occupational therapy and ‘pracademic’ passionate about gender-responsive occupational therapy research and practice to better support women's and girls' occupational wellbeing across the lifespan, high-quality teaching, and bridging research-practice gaps through integrated knowledge translation. She completed her PhD in 2022, exploring the role of occupational therapists in perinatal health. In 2025, Hannah co-authored and edited a textbook on women’s occupational wellbeing during matrescence, motherhood, and perinatal transitions. Her research and teaching draw on feminist theory, occupational justice, gendered health inequities, and innovative practice, aiming to embed gender-responsive and inclusive frameworks within occupational therapy curriculum design, research, and strategic projects. Hannah has presented nationally and internationally across occupational therapy, maternal health, and women’s health.
